Targa Media Directs Credit Union in Sensitive Email Campaign

SALT LAKE CITY, February 3, 2007. Goldenwest Credit Union recently engaged Targa Media's services to launch strategic e-mail campaigns to connect with their loyal client base through e-mail.

Roger Dickson, marketing director at Goldenwest said, "Of utmost importance was our need to comply with e-mail standards and to respect privacy rights of our credit union members. When you're an institution entrusted with somebody's money, they're watching and listening very carefully to each action. We looked to Targa Media to help properly brand our e-mail presentation, and our news and member promotions."

E-mail helped Goldenwest to build awareness of seasonal specials for its members, and to engage members in voting on government regulations between credit unions and banks.

"Formulation of best messaging posed interesting challenges," said Jason Steed, President of Targa Media. "We e-mailed a bulletin out to members asking them to update online passwords. With the almost daily barrage of fraudulent financial-type e-mails many of us receive, we had certain inherent challenges to address. All aspects of the campaign needed to ring familiar and credible to members."

"Information-driven e-mail is valuable, but at the same time we included multiple calls-to-action to ensure that recipients could find a useful link, whatever their interest level." continued Steed. "In each instance, if an e-mail recipient can't find something pertinent, they'll simply tune out and opt out."
